Measuring Tips to Assure The Best Fit

  • Measure your back size – wrap the measuring tape snugly around your ribcage, just under your bust line 1, keeping it horizontal. This will give you your band size.
  • Then measure around the fullest part of your bust 2 , again keeping the tape horizontal.
  • To determine the size of pants, measure the girth of the waist 3 and hips 4
  • The following charts will help you match the designer’s size scheme for this product (indicated in the dropdown) to your usual size

AS baskets are made in Germany from pleasantly soft cowhide. The riveted base plate is made of food-grade plastic.

With the AS basket, feed intake is effectively regulated. While eating, the horse rests its nose on the grass and picks it up through the slits in the base plate. This encourages slow eating and complete salivation. Grazing can be extended by wearing the basket, and the horse does not have to be isolated from its herd. The horses are balanced and content.

The familiarization phase is extremely short. Most horses or ponies learn to use this feed regulator very quickly and accept it very quickly due to its comfort.

With the AS basket, horses can drink from troughs and/or buckets. However, some automatic waterers can be problematic if they are too small.

Hay feeding is also possible.

Duration of use: To allow horses/ponies to have natural and meaningful social contact with their peers, it is recommended to give them "free time" each day.

If necessary, always consult a veterinarian!!

REMINDER:

A blow with the jaw, neck, or foot exerts a pressure of over 500 kg.

All baskets and halters, regardless of brand, are designed to break if snagged to save the lives of horses that are not designed to wear halters 24/7.

Of course, it can be frustrating when a basket breaks within a few days, but generally, it's because your horse either got stuck somewhere or stepped on the basket trying to remove it. It was better if it gave way.

Habituation frustration can lead to attempts to tear the basket off in the first few days. Once the horse understands it can eat, these behaviors diminish.

We therefore encourage you to adjust the baskets correctly, according to our instructions, to eliminate any hazards in the living areas, and to avoid trying to impose an overly restrictive basket from the outset. Rapid weight loss is dangerous and undesirable for the body.

PRECAUTIONS IN CASE OF A LAMINITIS OUTBREAK:

In case of a laminitis attack, in addition to the basket, you can use the following two products:

PEDIMIX or REINE DES PRES a natural aspirin that acts as a rapid pain reliever and anti-inflammatory, improves blood circulation, and helps protect the hoof capsule.

RELEAF GOLD : a natural aspirin that acts as a rapid soother; use while the horse is in pain.

NAV X GOLD : helps maintain a healthy and efficient circulatory system, stimulates circulation in the limbs, regulates heart rate, strengthens venous tissue, and acts as a vasodilator.

GEMMO VEINEUX : helps maintain a healthy and efficient circulatory system, strongly stimulates circulation in the limbs, regulates heart rate, strengthens venous tissue, and acts as a vasodilator.

Use for 1 to 2 months.

PRECAUTIONS IN CASE OF OBESITY:

In case of obesity, in addition to the basket, you can use the following products:

GLUCOMIX ou INSU-LITE : improves the body's absorption of sugar, lowers cholesterol, sugar, and lipid levels. Digestion: stimulates the production of digestive juices, has a prebiotic, soothing effect.

METABO’LIGHT :  100% natural dietary supplement for overweight horses or ponies that are unable to lose weight despite a strict diet. It is also recommended to support horses and donkeys with insulin resistance, chronic laminitis, and/or equine metabolic syndrome.

S-METABOL : 100% natural dietary supplement that helps improve insulin resistance and supports pancreatic activity. It is also recommended to help horses with equine metabolic syndrome.

PHYTO’SUC : Dietary supplement that acts as a hypoglycemic agent by reducing the concentration of glucose in the horse's blood. Very effective for horses whose body no longer regulates or poorly regulates insulin levels (insulin resistance). Phyto'suc works by delaying the insulin peak.

FOURBURE Détox ou HEPA'CLEAN ou NATURAL DRAIN ou Dé-Tox GOLD : Draining your overweight horse is a necessary step, a prerequisite, to help improve its liver and kidney health.

GEMMO DETOX effective drainage in gemmotherapy.

PRECAUTIONS FOR CUSHING'S DISEASE :

In case of Cushing's disease, in addition to the basket, you can use the following products:

CUSHMIX ou  KUSH'LESS FORTE ou CUSH GOLD X ou PHYTO'CUSH : which have endocrine-regulating properties.

LAMINITIS PREVENTION:

You can help prevent laminitis by avoiding high-risk situations. The following is a non-exhaustive list of "causes", or circumstances that precede the onset of laminitis:

 Obesity.

Eating too much grass high in sugars.

Eating foods rich in carbohydrates or rapidly fermentable fiber, such as grains, coarse mixtures, and fast-growing crops.

Any disease involving toxemia. This can be a bacterial infection or the ingestion of toxic plants or chemicals.

 Cushing's disease.

 Equine Metabolic Syndrome.

Stress. Deworming, vaccination, travel, or separation from a conspecific can trigger an attack of laminitis.

Hyperphagia and obesity are the most common high-risk conditions leading to laminitis.

Limiting grass consumption can be achieved by using a pasture basket or limiting the area available for grazing.

These recommendations do not constitute medical advice. For any questions regarding your horse health, always consult a veterinarian first. Every animal is different and has specific needs.
