MEADOWQUEEN - laminitis pain and stiffness

MEADOWSWEET – Spirea ulmaia. Rosaceae family

Meadowsweet is a bushy perennial herb, growing from 1 to 1.5 meters tall. Its white, dense flowers bloom from May to September. Meadowsweet is native to Europe and Asia and is particularly common in damp meadows and along ditches.

Components: simple phenolic glycosides (including methyl salicylate), flavonoids, tannins.

Meadowsweet, a plant recommended for relieving pain in horses: it is naturally rich in salicylate derivatives, precursors of aspirin. Meadowsweet is recommended for older horses and for laminitis.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has analyzed scientific data on the plant's potential benefits and confirmed its antibacterial activity as well as its ability to relieve minor joint pain and mild respiratory ailments.

What should meadowsweet be paired with?

In cases of laminitis, meadowsweet can be supplemented with a high-performance feed supplement. Laminitis Detox is made from a blend of plants selected for their liver-protecting properties and helps limit the risk of laminitis.

Dose to add to the basic ration for an adult horse (500 kg):

20 g/day for 3 weeks. If possible, give in 2 daily doses. Repeat if necessary. Pregnant mares should be advised by a veterinarian. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask your veterinarian.
